What is a BET Awards without a Nicki Minaj performance? The artist graced the stage once again for a fiery rendition of her current single, “Chun Li.” She appeared alongside a crew of backup dancers (who were all dressed as the Capcom Street Fighter character) as she twerked and bopped to the synth-heavy tune.
Minaj was once of the few performers who brought dramatics to show, decking out the stage with an nostalgic video game backdrop. After the song was over, she then seductively took off her black robe to expose a cherry-red latex dress as the beat to “Rich Sex” dropped. While featured collaborator Lil Wayne didn’t appear on the stage, Minaj ruled the song all by herself thanks to her eye-catching dance moves. She then wrapped up her performance with 2 Chainz and Big Sean, who popped up to perform their new “Big Bank” collaboration.
Nicki Minaj has a killer 2018 thus far, with her catchy “Chun Li” single ruling the radio airwaves and the recent releases of “Bed” and “The Light Is Coming” (her latest collaborations with pop music BFF Ariana Grande). This is all leading up to the anticipated drop of the rapstress’ upcoming fourth studio album Queen, which arrives on August 10.
